The bookstore, redesigned by Arthur Rüegg (Zurich architect) in 1989, is now our antiquarian bookshop in Zurich.
In 1926, Hans Girsberger wanted to create a special place for his avant-garde art and architecture books. Together with Max Ernst Haefeli, he designed the “Bücherstube”, which remained in its original state until 1989. Unfortunately, all the furniture was removed before a change of tenant. The old bookshelves were preserved and the partially destroyed stucco ceiling was carefully restored.
