Englischer Klassiker aus der Feder von Barbara Hofland (1770-1844), Autorin von zahlreichen Kinderbüchern. „The following Story, in its principal inciednts, was published in the Juvenile Souvenir for 1828 … it is now offered to the youthful public in a more finished state. It is perhaps necessary to repeat, that the Story of the Stolen Boy is founded on facts, which were communicated to the writer by Mr. Parker …“ (aus dem Vorwort). Die Illustration ist bezeichnet „Until the eleventh struck into the calf of his leg. Page 57“. Die Autorin ist bei Muir erwähnt, dieser Titel jedoch nicht. – Im Vergleich zum Katalogisat der British Library sind hier keine weitere Illustrationen vorhanden, auch kein Verzeichnis derselben, alle anderen Angaben stimmen jedoch überein, inkl. Druckvermerk auf Seite 168. – Einband stärker berieben, Frontispiz und Titel gebräunt, Inhalt zum Teil etwas fleckig. – Hs. Besitzvermerk auf Schmutzitel datiert 1842, weitere hs.
